Last year it was expected that only 1 airline should use the new airport of Murcia as their hub. We have good news!
Now that the airport is in use, we have allready seven airlines operating from Corvera. (officially Regionale Murcia Regional Airport).
Of course, the revival of the economy is the main reason for this expansion. The reason for the revival is the new boom in the construction and sale of existing houses.
The new airport of Murcia is expected to handle six million passengers in 2019. Which means that it will be easier to reach the southern part of the Costa Blanca to enjoy your villa and the Spanish sunshine. The fantastic cities of Murcia and Cartagena will therefore be more accessible. A domestic flight to Madrid or Barcelona becomes a little easier. In the past was taking a domestic flight not an easy game.
Murcia international airport is just outside the village of Corvera, about 21 km from Murcia and 30 from the beach. It replaces the old airport Murcia-San Javier as an ultramodern accommodation with more capacity and comfort for travelers. Given that the small and old airport of San Javier was one of the most profitable in Spain with more than a million passengers traveling through it each year, this modern airport is an extra asset for the Costa Blanca
The route to the airport is perhaps not as attractive as, for example, to the largest airport on the Costa Blanca, “El Altet” in Alicant. But the white beaches, wine, tapas and the best golf courses in Spain are waiting for you!
